Reputed journal, Foreign Policy in its report has declared Karachi Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal the second best mayor of the year 2008 world. Foreign Policy report titled `The Mayor of the moment’ said that Germany’s Berlin City Mayor, Klaus Wowereit, 55 topped the list among the best mayors of the world for the current year and Karachi Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal , 36 placed second on the basis of his last three years’ performance, private news channel reported.

Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has cautioned that citizens would not be wholly benefited from ongoing development activity if immediate attention was not paid to providing housing facilities.
Therefore, vacant land should be brought under use to promote better housing schemes and it was the reason that the present government revived housing schemes lying in abeyance through rapid development so that public confidence is restored. “City government has allotted 1.25 lac plots in Taisar and Malir Housing schemes where work on infrastructure development is fast underway”.

Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has called for designing and master planning  of entire area of Hawksbay Scheme-42 through some noted company.
“Hawksbay is the only coastal area of Pakistan and, therefore, it needs to be beautified - whether it was residential or commercial area”, he said while addressing the Governing Body of Lyari Development Authority here Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by DCO Karachi Javed Hanif and other GB members.

The City Government opened for vehicular traffic the second track of Sohrab Goth Flyover on Friday while the loops of Hasan Sqaure Flyover had already been opened for traffic on Thursday
night to facilitate the people, on the special directives of City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal . The City Nazim while visiting different areas of the city on Friday said the City Government is taking every possible measure to provide facilities to the citizens.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations in the metropolis, the ” Hamara Karachi, Hamara
Pakistan ” was taken out on Tuesday.
Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal , Naib Nazim, Ms. Nasreen Jalil, Provincial Minister, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Advisers to Sindh Chief Minister, Wasim Akhtar and M.A. Jalil were present on the occasion.
The rally started at 4.45 p.m. from the KMC Building here under the auspices of the Hamara Karachi Foundation (HKF). It included 25 floats which were tastefully decorated. The performers were presenting the folk dances.
Flower petals were showered on the participants of the rally and slogans of Pakistan Zindabad were also chanted, says a statement.

City Government Karachi has decided to set up country’s most modern ambulance network to link it with Trauma Cennter.
The network will have modern equipments, medical and paramedical staff and its ambulance service will have the facility of operation theatre where operations of immediate nature could be performed.

Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that Haq Parast leadership has taken another innovative step by introducing computerized system for receiving complaints of citizens.
The people will have a most modern computerized system on Independence Day on August 14 which will help resolve problems of people with exemplary pace and accuracy.
Addressing a meeting of Town Nazims at his office on Thursday he said the newly established complaint centers would be inter-connected at city and town levels and with Water Board, KBCA and other CDGK departments to share information regarding resolution of public problems.
He asked all the Town Nazims to be prepared for this by making all necessary arrangements and monitor the process personally so that all towns could be linked with this system by 14th August 2007.
The Nazim observed that people would be able to register their complaints through computerized complaint centers which would immediately be received by the concerned officer while the complainant could also check the actions taken on the complain at the computer.
He assured that rapid action would be taken on public complaints and these centers would bring about revolutionary changes in the government organizations with regard to resolution of public problems.
Therefore, he said, the Town Nazims should be ready for this and ensure completion of all public welfare projects before time to facilitate residents of the area.
He cautioned that those responsible for unnecessary delay in uplift works would be dealt with strictly whether they are officers or contractors, every one who proves to be guilty of needless delay will have to face action.
The City Nazim asked Town Nazmeen to take special measures for improvement in sanitary conditions mainly in the inner areas, streets falling in their jurisdiction .
He stressed on better coordination among UC Nazims, elected representatives and Municipal Services Group of offices to keep the city clean with collective efforts.
Kamal directed the concerned department to hire additional machinery and manpower for cleanliness drive while Town Nazims were told to monitor all these works and see that machinery and manpower is prudently utilised.

City Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that I.I. Chundrigar Road will be made traffic worth by August 14 on the occasion of Independence day of Pakistan. “The Haq Parast leadership will reconstruct this city’s most important road in record six months with day and night work and complete and inaugurate it by September”.

City Nazim Mustafa Kamal pointed out that keeping the nature of work in view, this road was to be completed in 18 months,but taking the problems of people into account, the City Government started its construction on war footing and just within one and a half month, the section of the road from Tower to Habib Bank had been completed and opened for traffic while work on the section from Jang Press to Shaheen complex is in progress and will be completed in a record time.
