As part of the Independence Day celebrations in the metropolis, the ” Hamara Karachi, Hamara
Pakistan ” was taken out on Tuesday.
Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Naib Nazim, Ms. Nasreen Jalil, Provincial Minister, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Advisers to Sindh Chief Minister, Wasim Akhtar and M.A. Jalil were present on the occasion.
The rally started at 4.45 p.m. from the KMC Building here under the auspices of the Hamara Karachi Foundation (HKF). It included 25 floats which were tastefully decorated. The performers were presenting the folk dances.
Flower petals were showered on the participants of the rally and slogans of Pakistan Zindabad were also chanted, says a statement.
From the KMC Building up to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, four “cultural gates” were set up- Sindh Gate, Balochistan Gate, the Punjab Gate and NWFP Gate.
The artists also performed on the stage at these cultural gates.
The scouts of the City District Government schools played tunes on band and presented national songs.
At the `Numaish Chowrangi’, Syed Mustafa Kamal and Ms. Nasreen Jalil addressed the people.
They congratulated the people on the auspicious occasion of the independence day.
They said that on this occasion we should renew our pledge to undertake concerted efforts for the progress and prosperity of the country as well as its people.
They stated that Karachi is the city of all of us and its betterment is our collective responsibility.
They also chanted the slogans of `Pakistan Zindabad’ on the occasion.
They rally reached the premises of the mausoleum of the father of the Nation a little before Maghrib.
