Kalsoft digitises service for Islamabad

Filed under: Technology — Faraz Ahmed @ 11:48 pm

The KalSoft is digitising services for Islamabad Capital Territory.

An announcement to this effect was made in a statement issued here on Thursday.

It said KalSoft has recently finished deploying a suite of applications to enable E-Services for Chief and Deputy Commissioner’s offices, a project of Electronic Government Directorate, Ministry of IT.

The project, the statement added, is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the execution of Citizen Services that are essential for government services and district management.

It said the suite incorporates applications for issuing licenses and permits and web portals for the local governments.

With this system in place, citizens will be able to submit and track their applications online, as well as improving their experience of public sector services.

The project implementation is being spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed, and is crucial for the automation of vital services facilitating the people.

The solution has been designed around MOSS 2007, Microsoft Live Communication Server 2005, Microsoft Enterprise Project Management Server 2007, and Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains by the KalSoft team.

The project has entered the final execution phase after the infrastructure deployment of the solution.

“As telecommunications and information technology is progressing, the need for better integration and streamlining our government bodies is increasing exponentially.

The key to servicing citizens effectively and efficiently lies in a seamlessly integrated system that links all government bodies together over a vast network of information that allows them to communicate with each other and serve the citizens without a moment’s pause. We are proud to have been a part of this project that allowed us to contribute towards enhancing Pakistan’s infrastructure and facilitating the government to better serve the citizens”, President and CEO, KalSoft, Khurram H. Kalia said.

Automation is vital for streamlining government operations and is essential in improving the service standards for the citizens.

The solutions will facilitate citizens by opening a new doorway in public sector services. The solution has shown significant potential and will play a pivotal role in the government’s drive for providing better services.
