Warid Telecom Limited is providing voice and data communications service through its GSM and EDGE network with excellent voice clarity and connectivity in over 414 cities, 7,600 destinations all over the country with exceptional coverage on major motorways and highways.
This was pointed out in a statement of the organization issued here on Tuesday.
It said that Warid’s EDGE services are available in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad.
This network capability has been attained by erecting a network of over 4,100 state of the art Base Trans-receiver Stations and 42 high-tech switching centres.
The statement further pointed out that Warid subscribers in Pakistan are served by 25 fully-equipped business centres and eight mobile service units.
The distribution channel includes fully equipped 283 franchises, 78 Cat-A franchises and over 100,000 registered retail outlets.
Warid Telecom made history by starting its network with 28 cities in May 2005. At that time it was the biggest launch by a cellular phone operator in this region.
The statement said that Warid is expanding its network very fast in order to provide its cellular phone services to every corner of Pakistan. The ongoing aggressive expansion phase will soon add approximately 250 more cities to its network. These include very remote areas with poor infrastructure and facilities, especially in Northern Areas, AJK and Balochistan.
