Construction of KPP suffers delay

Filed under: Karachi News — Faraz Ahmed @ 12:09 am

Construction works of Korangi Power Plant (KPP) continues to remain halted during the last 8 months in view of non payment of dues to Seimens by Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC).
According to Geo News officials of KESC said that electricity production suffered delay because of discontinuation of Grid Station’s construction work.     The original schedule Korangi Power plant was to generate 85 MW electricity from April 2008 while the supply of as much power from the same plant from July 1 2008.
Siemens Pakistan was entrusted with the construction of Grid Station but due to non-payment of dues by KESC it has now approached the court.
