Science group classes for new entrants commence

The teaching of the new entrants to the first year classes of the government colleges in the
metropolis began from Monday.
This was stated by the Director General of Colleges, Sindh, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Siddiqui.
He said that the first year classes of the Pre-Engineering and the Pre-Medical faculties commenced from Monday.
Prof. Siddiqui on Monday visited Sindh Government D.J. Science College, Adamjee Science College and the Lyari College for Boys and Girl.
Addressing the students, he exhorted them to concentrate fully towards the acquisition of knowledge.
Prof. Siddiqui also advised the students to attend their classes regularly and pointed out that 75 percent attendance is a must for appearing in the final examination.
He also asked them to maintain discipline and wear uniform in the college premises.
Prof. Siddiqui also asked the teachers to pay attention towards the impartation of knowledge.
He said that the faculty members should also wear gowns in the colleges.
Meanwhile, the placement list for admission of Commerce Group (Female) and Arts (Male) was announced on Monday.
The list of the Commerce Group (Male) was already notified whereas that of the Arts (Female) will be announced by Wednesday or Thursday.
Prof. Siddiqui further stated that all those who have passed their matric examinations this year would be accommodated in the government colleges in the metropolis in accordance with the
merit.
As many as 84,000 candidates have passed the matric examinations this year and there are 118 government colleges in the city.
It was assured that no youngster would be deprived of the admission for want of seats.
However, Prof. Siddiqui pointed out that those who have cleared their examinations with less percentage of marks would be accommodated in the arts group.
